December Holidays for Chamber Social Media

One of the easiest ways to fluff up your social media calendar is to post on holidays. You can find specific holidays to promote a chamber member (like promoting a home furnishing or repair store on National Bathtub Party Day), post a fun picture of your staff celebrating, or sharing a resource to help others learn about the issue. I also like to track job-related holidays as a reminder to reach out or recognize specific members.

Here’s some December Holidays that could be a good fit for your chamber social media calendar or for recognizing your members:

Days

  • Dec. 2 – Special Education Day
  • Dec. 3 – Roof Over Your Head Day
  • Tuesday after Thanksgiving – National Day of Giving
    • If you don’t have a c(6), you can still ask people to “give you a review”, or promote nonprofit members that accept donations

  • Dec. 6 – National Pawnbrokers Day
  • Dec. 7 – Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
  • Dec. 8 – Pretend to be a Time Traveler Day
  • Dec. 10 – Human Rights Day
  • Dec. 11 – National App Day
    • Great excuse to teach members about an app (like Primer) that will help them be more successful.
  • Dec. 12 – National Ding-a-ling Day
    • “Ding-a-Lings on this day call the people they haven’t heard from in a while,” making this a great reason reach out to members you haven’t seen or heard from in a while.
